A Little About Our Story & Values
Who is The Olive Trust?
The Olive Trust was founded on the principle that everyone deserves to be able to access therapy should they need it. It was clear that this isn’t always the case, usually due to financial constraints which means that often the people that need it the most are unable to get the help they need when they need it the most.
The Olive Trust seeks to address this by providing low cost and free therapy to anyone living in Leicester and Leicestershire. Our service is funded entirely from grants and donations to help support the residents of Leicester and Leicestershire.
The olive tree is extremely resilient. Equipped to survive drought, sub zero temperatures, frost and even fire.
Their roots are so strong that they can re-grow even when it seems like they’ve been completely decimated. Even if the tree has been damaged, the roots can be reinvigorated and grow above the soil once again.
Our Mission Statement
The Olive Trust believes that each and every one of us has the capacity to learn how to not only come back from adversities but also empower ourselves along the way.
Just like the olive tree, with the right conditions, including the encouragement and space to grow, everyone has the ability to heal and thrive.
To provide a service that seeks to support and empower individuals to help them make informed choices about their wellbeing.
Our work reflects our shared core values:
We actively work to overcome barriers and work with difference.
We are honest and transparent. We are always looking for ways to improve our service and will always ask for feedback from our clients.
Our aim is to provide meaningful support to individuals. We want our clients to gain a sense of control and meaning over their lives in a way that makes sense to them.
We believe that every individual has the right to self-determination, this could mean different things to different people. We actively work with our clients to help them develop a sense of choice, control and agency over their lives.
